As a child, I knew skin wipes as deodorized tissues used to wipe sweat. Later a whole new range of skin wipes came into the market where you could use damp tissues to clean your face. A few more years later skin wipes started to be used for removing makeup. Despite the evolution of skin wipes I never bought one for myself because the idea of using damp tissues to clean my face didn’t feel hygienic to me. Also, nothing can make you feel as refreshed as water. However, I saw several beauty bloggers use skin wipes to remove their makeup. I saw them easily wipe off stubborn eye makeup and eyeliners with skin wipes so I was curious as to try them myself so I got a packet of Kaya Skin Cleansing Wipes and I felt sad for not having bought it before. I spent so much money on different types of makeup removing creams and used all sorts of oil but often found it difficult to remove all my make-up. But these skin wipes work like a potent eraser that can get rid of any artificial lines drawn on your face. However, even after using it I was skeptical as these tissues are damp and stored in a plastic pouch so I was worried if it would cause a breakout but it didn’t, so I was relieved. Here is my experience using Kaya Everyday Cleansing Wipes.
Name: Kaya Everyday Cleansing Wipes
Price: Rs. 125/- (30 wipes)
What does it claim?
The skin wipes are used to clean your skin of dirt, oil, and makeup and leave the skin feeling clean and refreshed.
How To Use:
Gently peel the seal to reveal the wipes in the pouch. Remove a wipe and reseal the pouch.
Wipe your face to remove makeup. I also washed my face with a mild face wash after clearing my makeup.
Does it fulfill its claim?
Yes. At first, I thought I would have to rub my skin hard with the wipe to get rid of the makeup especially my eyeliner, but the skin wipe is so effective that it easily wiped off my waterproof eyeliner in one swipe. I didn’t even have to rub it hard to get it off completely. When using a makeup removing cream, the cream would always get into my eye and I would have to run to the washbasin to wash it off. But that wasn’t the case with these wipes as there is no leaky solution on it to irritate the eyes. The skin wipe even got rid of my primer, foundation, compact powder and dark red lipstick, that I was wearing in two gentle swipes without leaving a trace of it.
What’s good about it?
Highly effective, gets rid of 90% makeup in one swipe
Comes in a travel-friendly pouch
Gentle on skin
Suitable for sensitive, oily skin
What’s not so good about it?
My only concern with Kaya Everyday Cleansing Skin Wipes is the amount of alcohol content in it. Several dermatologists have cautioned that the alcohol in skin wipes could dry out the skin causing wrinkles and even acne. So, I suggest you use these wipes occasionally only when you are running late or while travelling. Using it on a daily basis would not be such a good idea considering its long-term effects on the skin.
I give Kaya Everyday Cleansing Wipes 4 out of 5 rating. The skin wipes may not be an ideal option for daily use but it is extremely effective for removing makeup when you are in a haste.
