Mama Earth Ubtan Face Wash Review: Lightens Sun Tan And Brightens Skin In An Instant

Mama Earth is a skin care brand offering products made mostly of natural ingredients. This brand is quite popular online so I thought of giving, a couple of their products, a try. Along with the face wash I also purchased their face mask which I am currently in love with and will put up the review soon. For now, let’s see how this face wash fared.

Mama Earth Face Wash Review

The face wash is yellow in colour and contains tiny smooth granules. It has a strong turmeric fragrance which I like.

Mama Earth Face Wash Review

I purchased this face wash in January this year. I bought it for two reasons one it says ‘repairs sun damage’ and two it says ‘for dry skin’. Back then, I had returned from a vacation and was mildly tanned. Also, my skin was extremely dry and flaky due to the drastic drop in temperature. Therefore, this face wash looked perfect for me. Initially I used this face wash twice a day which dried my skin out. So then I used it just once a day but the skin drying effect seemed persistent. Even when I used it on alternate days the face wash would leave a plasticky feeling on my skin i.e. it made it squeaky clean. I don’t mind ‘squeaky clean’ but not when my skin is already dry. I deduced that this face wash would be better during the summers when my skin is oily and I wouldn’t mind that squeaky clean feel. I have been using this face wash for the past couple of weeks and I see the good results. I use this once a day and after every wash, I notice that my skin looks brighter. Which of course lasts for just a few minutes. But it does help reduce tan. The tiny granules help rid of the excess oil on my face and make it look cleaner.

If you plan to buy this face wash or are already using it then please keep in mind to not rub the face wash vigorously. Even though the granules are smaller as compared to regular face scrubs, it can still cause micro-tears which will harm the skin in the long run. Also, remember, a little goes a long way. A tiny pea-sized amount of the product is sufficient to clean a damp face.

What’s good about it?

Free from SLS and paraben

Lightens tan

Instantly brightens skin

What’s not so good about it?

Makes the skin squeaky clean which may not be the best thing for dry skin

I give Mama Earth Ubtan Face Wash 3.5 out of 5 rating. It effectively tackles skin tan and brightens the skin. The face wash did not help me with my dry skin woes so I feel this product is more suitable for oily skin especially during the summers.
