Winter is the only time I dare apply lotion to my skin. The rest of the time I refrain from using body lotion as it causes freckles on my skin. So usually I keep creams at bay. My skin tone is on the lighter side so I do not fancy buying whitening products. However, I get tanned very easily so a good sun block is a must for me. When I saw Nivea’s body lotion, I picked it up only because it had ‘cell repair and UV protect’ written on it. I have been using this product since last year and here is my experience using it.
Name : Nivea Extra Whitening Cell Repair & UV Protect Body Lotion
Price: Rs 249/- for 200ml
What does it claim?
The back cover states that the cream helps to repair dull damaged skin, dark spots, flaky skin and uneven skin tone.
Does it fulfil its claim?
I apply the cream after a shower in the morning, 30 minutes before stepping out in the sun. Though the cream is thick, the skin absorbs it quickly. Once, completely absorbed the cream does not feel greasy like a moisturiser. My skin feels soft and smooth. As per its claim, it did lighten my skin and helped me get rid of my tan. My skin looks visibly lighter and brighter. So much so that my face now looks two shades darker than my hands and neck.
What’s good about it?
Reduces tan and makes skin brighter.
Effectively lightens certain scars.
Paraben, bleach, and colourant free.
What’s not so good about it?
Has a typical Nivea cream smell.
Takes time to show effect.
I give Nivea’s Extra Whitening Cell Repair & UV Protect Body Lotion 4 out of 5 rating. I have been using this lotion for more than a year and it has worked well for me. It has made my skin even toned and smoothened my rough skin. Do give this cream a try.
