11 Thai Romance Dramas To Watch On YouTube (with English subtitles)

When it comes to romance, Thai shows boast of some dreamy love stories that will give you all the feels you seek from it. Romantic Thai shows have a gorgeous cast, scenic locations, and heart-melting, swoony love. I have watched a couple of romance Thai lakorns and have loved the lead couple in each one of the shows.

Finding a decently subbed Thai lakorn is not easy but thankfully networks have been posting really good Thai shows on YouTube with English subtitles. So, here are some of the best Thai romance dramas that you will find on YouTube with subtitles.

11 Thai Romance Dramas To Watch On YouTube (with English subtitles)

1. F4 Thailand: Boys Over Flowers

Let’s start with my personal favorite. The Thai version of Boys Over Flowers. The story is the same but with a fresh new approach that is relevant for the current times. And not to forget the gorgeous cast.

Coming from a lower-middle-class family, Gorya wants to remain invisible and complete her education at a prestigious high school where rich kids bully poor kids. She tries her best to be inconspicuous until one day she rubs the school’s bully, Thyme the wrong way and earns his ire and attention. He then orders his lackeys to bully her but she never gives in. Her grit appeals to Thyme who falls hard for Gorya. She, however, is in love with his friend Ren who is a sweet and kind guy.

This one is an angsty romance that has a slooooooooow start but once it catches up the leads will win you over with their acting and smouldering chemistry.

Nubdao works as a host for a home shopping network. Despite working very hard she is hardly paid enough at work which leaves her extremely frustrated. One day, she happens to meet her college junior Kimhan who recognizes her instantly but she has hardly any recollection of him much less of the promise they made to each other one night. 3. In Time With You (2020)

This is the Thai adaptation of the Taiwanese drama of the same title. I LOVED the original Taiwanese version (read the review here) and though this version is a lot more slow-paced, it is still worth a try.

Pim is a hard-working and ambitious young girl who works as the sales manager of a shoe company. At 30, her family feels it’s time for her to settle down with her childhood bestie Pon. But Pim is not in love with Pon and considers him only a friend. Pon, however, has been in love with Pim since their school days but has never had the courage to express his feelings lest he loses Pim’s friendship.

On her birthday, Pim and Pon make a bet that whoever gets married over the next year will receive a huge sum of money from the other person. Pim then resolves to find love and settle down soon. Pon too finds love for himself. But problems keep cropping up to ruin their respective affairs.

5. Love In Twilight (2021)

No, it has absolutely no connection with “The Twilight Series”. It doesn’t have a single vampire in it but it does have some magical men who turn into tigers. A supernatural show totally worth a try.

Suea Phaya, the tiger king protecting the forest transforms into a tiger every red moon. On the verge of death, Suea Phaya transfers his magical quality into the body of a doctor’s son, Sama to pass on the tradition and keep it alive.

Sama has no idea of his magical quality until he turns 20 and the secret is revealed in a traditional ceremony. Since the revelation, Sama starts leading a lonely life until he meets Parichart, a teacher who he falls for but is unable to be with because of his supernatural powers.

9. Wanthong (2021)

The only period drama on this list, this show is about love and relationships. It deals with infidelity and tragedy. This lakorn should be watched for its cast as the three main leads put up a great performance.

Based in the Ayutthaya era, Wan Thong is a young girl brought to trial by people for having two lovers at one time. When the king orders her to choose any one man she tells him her story. In her story, we see that though both the men love Wan Thong dearly, neither one of them was truly worthy of her love. Making a choice is difficult for Wan Thong.

Watching any foreign show requires its viewers to keep an open mind to accept the respective countries’ norms and values. These Thai shows may contain content that foreign viewers may not generally agree with. Hence, it is better to not think too much about the shows and watch them only for entertainment. Enjoy.
