She tells him that she wants to cook a special fish to cheer him up. After the dish is ready, he looks at it with disgust and asks Kobayashi to try it first and he reluctantly gives it a try. As expected the dish is bad and Kobayashi has to be escorted to the washroom to throw up.

Airi questions Kaito’s decision to invite Megumi to their school and he shows them the latest stats of their schools rise in applications after the news of Megumi’s enrolment was posted on SNS (a social media site similar to Facebook). Furious, Airi urges Haruto to do something before Ota misunderstands it and Haruto scoffs that Ota has nothing to do in this as she is already dating Tenma. As he leaves the lounge, Kaito once again tells him to date Megumi and Haruto turns away without a word.

Megumi tells Ota of how she and Haruto saw her with her boyfriend Tenma last night and Ota is shocked to know that Haruto was there when she proposed to Tenma. Megumi then asks her if she is really OK with her dating Haruto because she now has a boyfriend anyway and Ota says that she has nothing to do with Haruto anyway.

Haruto gets into a fight with some boys and returns home with a bruise on his face. His father rebukes him for not acting like a Kaguragi and falling for a girl much below their standards. He tells him that if being perfect is his goal then he is at 5 points. But getting involved with Ota gets him minus 10 points. He says that he understands that Ota is a good girl and Haruto falling for her is very natural. Haruto is stunned to know that his father met with Ota and he clarifies that he just visited her once. He tells him to get his shit together and stop running after Ota. Haruto however, muses that falling for Ota does not give him minus 10 points but instead takes his score to a perfect 100.

When his father leaves he sees Megumi waiting outside Haruto’s room. His eyes show a glint of sparkle when Kobayashi tells him that Megumi is the daughter of Mr Nishidome who owns a chain of hotels and resorts.

Haruto is displeased looking at Megumi. He looks really low and she asks him if he had a fight with his father. He gripes that this is how he is totally opposite to the anime character she is obsessed with. He grouches that he cannot face the girl he likes, cannot speak up to his father and is basically a weak person. He tells her she can leave him if she doesn’t like someone like him. Much to his surprise, she plunges on his bed and says that she will never leave him and is willing to share half of his pain. She is almost in tears but Haruto is unmoved.

She says next time she will make him a sweet dish and asks him to accompany her on a holiday instead of spending it alone.

Still angry over Ota’s decision of dating Tenma over Haruto, Airi asks her the reason behind her choice. Ota tells her that her decision has made her mother happy and more importantly she feels at peace choosing Tenma who is so nice to her.

Taking Konno and her mother’s suggestion Ota asks Tenma out for a trip to the amusement park which he readily agrees for. But the very first ride they have together makes Ota sick. Tenma leaves her to rest on a bench to bring some water for her when she sees Haruto rise from a nearby bench looking equally sick after riding the rollercoaster.

Megumi asks Ota if she has been on a double date before. Ota remembers her double date with Konno and her boyfriend where she had gone with Haruto. But in front of Tenma she says this is her first double date which surprises Haruto who says he has been on a double date before. He then reminds Ota of how they had been on a double date before and how they first went to the batting centre and then the restaurant but she starts screaming to keep Tenma from hearing Haruto. Haruto says she should not be afraid of being honest in front of Tenma. He then looks at Tenma and thinks of how annoying he looks. (Hahahaha Haruto is so insecure and jealous that he looks cute being like that.)

However, Haruto looks at the bento box and says that it is not like what Ota makes and then leaves to visit the loo. He then sits on a bench and muses of how much he hates to see Tenma and Ota together. His eyes then fall upon an advertisement of a scary house ride in the amusement park. This dorama has been taking all those turns I never expected it to take. I repeat, this dorama feels a lot like HYD with similar characters but is still so starkly different from it. Looks like the writer must have really brainstormed hard on how HYD would have been ten years later and she seems to be on the right track till now. The writer has taken key elements from the main story and then twisted it to appeal to the current generation. I am loving how same yet different this dorama is from HYD.

The best part about today’s episode is Ota’s character. She knows she feels for Haruto but still makes it clear to him that they can never be together as she likes Tenma and is loyal to the one who never gave up on her despite all that happened with her. I appreciate the fact that she has not kept both the boys hanging for her choice like most drama heroines do. For now, she has made her choice and seems to be happy with Tenma. And why not, the way Tenma refused to console the girl who likes him shows how focused he is on his relationship with Ota and does not want to jeopardize it in any way. He sees the clear connection between Ota and Haruto but still does not feel threatened as he has faith in himself and his love for Ota. Too bad I doubted his intentions and character in the initial episodes of this dorama but now I can see his earnest feelings for Ota and I cannot stop gushing over my second-lead.

Rooting for Tenma means ditching the stupid and silly, Haruto. I like Haruto too. He is so much better than Domyuji. I loved how he expressed his feeling for Ota when she ambushed him. I could see the anguish, the longing, the sincerity, the helplessness in his eyes and was moved by it. I feel so bad for him. I don’t want to see him low like this. I know things will get better for him in the coming episodes so he need not worry as he is the main lead. The one I’m worried about is Tenma who might have a heartbreak. I hope he turns out to be a villain so I feel a little less bad for him or else I will never forgive Ota for being so ruthless with such an amazing guy.
