Mamaearth Argan Hair Mask Review: Disappointing Hair Mask

I suffer from terrible hair fall and am always looking for products that can help control it. Though I am on medication advised by a dermatologist treating my condition, I still look for products that will augment the treatment. I purchased Mamaearth Argan Hair Mask after seeing this ad on Amazon.

Which claimed to help with some serious hair loss conditions. So I clicked ‘buy’ without a second thought. But when I received the package and read the application instruction, it indicated that the mask should be applied from root to tip ‘avoiding scalp’. If it is not applied to the scalp how is it going to reduce hair loss? And then I realised that I fell for yet another marketing gimmick. Argh!!

If you are planning to buy this hair mask hoping it will address your hairfall woes then I’m telling you right now it won’t. The packaging states for ‘frizz-free and stronger hair’. Hence, the review will be only regarding the highlighted benefit i.e. if it truly makes the hair ‘frizz-free’ and ‘strong’.

Mama Earth Hair Mask Review

Name: Mamaearth Argan Hair Mask

Price: ₹599/- for 200 ml

Ingredients: Purified Water, Milk Protein, Curd Extract, Argan Oil, Rosemary Oil, Cedarwood Oil, Tea Tree Oil, Sodium Citrate, Brassica Alcohol, Brassicamidopropyl Dimethylamine, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Hydrolysed Collagen, Sodium Hyaluronate & Potassium Sorbate.

What does it claim?

According to Amazon, the product is supposed to offer all of these benefits. At least this is what the ingredients present in the product are supposed to do.

How to use?

Divide your hair into sections. Take a generous amount of product on hand and apply on hair, root to tip. Avoid scalp. Leave it on for 15-25 minutes. Rinse with sulfate-free shampoo.

Does it fulfil its claim?

The mask comes in a white plastic jar with a stopper lid below the round screw cap. The mask is white in colour and thick and creamy in consistency.

It has a pleasant fragrance and spreads easily over hair strands. After every use I can certainly say that my hair felt super silky to touch and looked visibly shiny.

But this is something even my conditioner and serum do effectively so I am not fully sure of why the mask is required at all. My hair tends to get frizzy during the rains and despite using this mask regularly I did not see any marked effect on frizz control. As far as hairfall is concerned, it does hardly anything to control it.

What’s good about it?

Makes hair soft and shiny

Contains natural extracts

Paraben and Silicone-free

Suitable for coloured and treated hair

What’s not so good about it?

Does not fulfil all it claims

Does not help with hairfall problems

Works like a regular hair conditioner nothing extra

I give ‘Mamaearth Argan Hair Mask’ 2 out of 5 rating. This mask is effective in working on the outer appearance of the hair but does not work deep enough to address hair problems that it claims to help with. I have loved the other products I have used of this brand but sadly this hair mask really disappointed me.
