These Korean sheet masks are slowly becoming my favourite as they really work wonders for the skin. However, I would not yet swear by them as they have temporary effects. A sheet mask is good for a quick fix solution but its effects last only for a few hours. Nonetheless, they are extremely effective and generally fulfil their claim of making the skin bright and moisturised. I had an event to attend and had no time to visit the salon for a facial. I had just a few hours on hand and lots of stuff to do before I could leave. So, I used the Face Shop Bio-Cell Brightening Face mask and left it on my face as I went about doing my chores. Here is my experience using this sheet mask.
Name: Face Shop Bio-Cell Brightening Face
Price: ₹300 for 1 sheet mask
What does it claim?
The sheet mask contains Glutathione serum which is extremely hydrating and gives the skin a bright and healthy complexion.
How to use?
Wash your face with a mild cleanser and pat it dry. Using a cotton ball gently rub a toner over your face that will help refine your skin texture. Remove the mask from its packet, peel off the white plastic cover and place it on your face. Remove the mask after 20 minutes and gently massage the solution left on the skin and leave it on till it dries on your face. DO NOT wash it off as your skin needs to absorb the serum. The serum may feel sticky at first but don’t worry it will dry after some time and will leave you glowing and refreshed.
Does it fulfil its claim?
The mask is a light blue coloured cotton sheet with a white plastic peel off cover. I peeled the white plastic cover and placed the mask on my face. The mask has a mild and pleasant flowery fragrance. I have to point out that the eye holes of most Face Shop mask sheets are super tiny. The first time I used a sheet mask by the Face Shop, my one eye started burning because the serum leaked into my eyes. I hope the brand works on widening the eye hole as it becomes very inconvenient for users like me. The mask was dripping of serum and I massaged the excess serum over my neck. The mask’s serum is so moisturising that it even healed my chapped lips as a part of the mask slipped over my upper lip. I peeled off the mask after leaving it on for 20 minutes. I then gently patted the serum for a few minutes and left it on for a few hours. Most mask users say that the serum gets absorbed quickly. But for some strange reason, the serum just won’t dry off on my skin. I guess it could be because of the humid climate in my city. Anyway, I left it on for around two hours and then had to wash it off as I had to rush out to be someplace. I washed it with regular water and did not use any cleanser. But despite the short duration, the mask worked well for me. My skin looked radiant and my cheekbones looked illuminated like as if I had applied highlighter over it. The glow lasted for a few hours till I returned home and washed my face with a mild face wash. If you too have a problem with the serum not drying quickly then use the mask before sleeping and let the serum dry on your face the whole night. Remember to take off the mask after 20 minutes or else the serum will dry off on the mask and make your skin dry. I normally leave the serum on my face overnight and my skin looks illuminated in the morning. Despite my minor complaint about the eye hole, I liked the sheet mask as it did what it claimed and I was happy as my skin was glowing without any makeup.

I give Face Shop Bio-Cell Brightening Face Mask 4 out of 5 rating. Had the eye hole not been a problem, I would have given this face mask full marks. The face mask does truly make the skin radiant and I would recommend it without any doubt.
