SSCPL Charcoal Premium Modeling Mask Review: Easy To Apply, Easy To Peel-Off

I have always stayed away from peel-off masks as I never liked the idea of pulling out something stuck to my skin. When I bought this Modeling Mask I did not know it was a peel-off mask. I bought it because I love SSCPL products and I just have to try every product that they launch. I shopped for a bunch of their newly launched products and this modelling mask was one of my buys. When I learnt that it was a peel-off mask, I was a little sceptical of how I would use it. Thankfully, the product is easy to apply and easier peel off. It was like a rubber mask that rolls off the face smoothly. I have used this mask twice and here is my experience with it.

Name: SSCPL Charcoal Premium Modeling Mask

Price: ₹250/- for 25 gms

Ingredients: Activated Charcoal, Kaolin, Allantoin, Seaweed Algae extract.

What does it claim?

The mask helps to curb acne and lighten skin blemishes. It deep cleanses the skin and controls excess sebum.

How to use?

Wash your face with your regular cleanser. Apply toner and wait till it dries. Mix the powder with regular water to make a thick paste and then apply all over face and neck. Relax for 15-20 minutes. Then gently peel off the mask and wash with warm water. Apply moisturiser if required.

Does it fulfil its claim?

The product comes in a white plastic container and is silver-grey in colour. The container contains 25 gms of powder which is enough for two applications. I first scrubbed my face with my regular face scrub. I took half of the product in a bowl and carefully sealed the remaining half in the container.

I mixed rosewater to the powder and made a thick paste of it. I then applied it to my face and neck. I also applied it over my eyes and lips. I looked something liked this with the mask on.

I had not used a peel off mask before so I was not sure when and how I am supposed to peel it off. My main concern was that my facial hair should not be pulled off in the process. After about 20 minutes. I touched the edges of the mask over my neck and it came off smoothly. So, I gently pulled off the entire mask off my face. The areas where the mask was thick came off easily. But the areas where I had applied a thin layer of the mask dried off and could not be pulled off. So, whenever you use this mask, remember to apply a very thick layer all over your face and do not wait for the mask to dry and become light grey. Peel it off when it is still dark grey. Also, exercise extra caution when peeling it off from the eyes as I did not pull it off right and the mask stuck to my eyelashes. It took a while for me to peel it off without pulling out my lashes. I then washed my face with warm water. My skin did not feel dry so I did not apply any moisturiser. My skin felt super soft and looked clear and radiant. I noticed that a new painful acne that was erupting under my nose, dried off and flattened the next day. The effect of the mask lasted for 2 days as my skin felt less oily and more bright. I will use this mask again when I am too lazy to do a complete facial.

What’s good about it?

Paraben-free

Easy to apply and remove

SLS/SLES free

No mineral oil

No synthetic colours

100% Veg

What’s not so good about it?

Nothing. The product does what it claims and I have no complaints.

I give SSCPL Charcoal Premium Modeling Mask 4.5 out of 5 rating. If you like peel-off masks, then you must try this mask as it safe and easy to use.
