Biotique Bio Clove Purifying Anti Blemish Face Pack Review: A Stinging Experience For Oily Sensitive Skin

My acne-prone, sensitive oily skin does not give me the luxury to experiment with a lot of face products. So, when I buy something for my face I do a thorough research of the brand before investing in it. Biotique is an ayurvedic brand that boasts of products that are 100% organic and preservative-free. Biotique’s bio clove purifying anti-blemish face pack contains only natural ingredients so I thought it is worth a try and here is my experience with this product.

Biotique Bio Clove Purifying Anti Blemish Face Pack Review

What does it claim?

The face pack’s key ingredients clove and turmeric help control pimples, absorb excess oil and other impurities that cause acne. Regular use can make the skin look smooth and clear.

How to use?

First, wash your face clean and dry it with a soft towel. The face pack comes in a tub so you have to take some amount of the clay face pack in your fingers and apply it directly to your face. Keep it on for 10-20 minutes, till the pack dries and wash it off with water.

Does it fulfill its claim?

The moment I applied the face pack it felt like my face was on fire. It stung too bad. The face pack is so potent with cloves that even my eyes started burning. I felt worried that maybe I had to dilute it with water before applying but the package did not mention for it to be diluted so I kept it on. All the while that the pack was on my face it felt like I had applied a pain-relieving balm as the cooling sensation was the same as a balm. It even smelt like a popular balm. Since 90% of face packs I use sting because of my super sensitive skin, the burning feeling wasn’t new to me and I thought it would subside in a few more minutes, but that didn’t happen. The burning sensation continued as long as the pack was on my face. It did reduce a little when it gradually dried but still stung slightly. I washed it off after 15 minutes. My skin felt cool and soft but other than that there wasn’t any major effect on my skin. As ayurvedic products work slow, I applied the face pack every day for a week to see if it made any difference to the acne and acne spots on my skin but I failed to notice any substantial effect. The face pack is supposed to make your skin clear and smooth but even after using it for a week my skin looked the same. In fact, after every wash, my face looked a little dull. It did effectively reduce the oiliness of my skin but did not have any great effect on my complexion.

What’s good about it?

Contains only natural ingredients

Makes the skin feel cool and soft

Can be used regularly

Reasonably priced

Controls oil

What’s not so good about it?

Too strong for sensitive skin

Takes too long to show any major effect

Has barely any effect on acne or blemishes

I give Biotique’s Bio Clove Purifying Anti Blemish Face Pack 1 out of 5 rating, as I am not very impressed with it. The face pack was too strong for my sensitive skin, which is why I used it only for a week as making my face burn every single day did not seem like a good idea. I might use this face pack again in the summer when it might be a good option for controlling oil on my skin but I don’t see myself buying this face pack again.
